Yankee Candle: White Christmas

White Christmas is one of my all time favourite Yankee Candle scents, I fill with joy when it gets to this time of year and I can pull one of my reserves out and start burning it again!

It is very different from the traditional spiced scents that you usually find at Christmas, don't get me wrong I do love these too but there is something about White Christmas that I just love more and more everytime I burn it.

The scent itself is described as 'woodsy evergreens' and 'freshly fallen snow', I'm not 100% sure what either of those things exactly smell like, the best way I can describe this myself is as extremely clean and fresh, when you burn it, it smells like you've just done a fresh load of laundry. I feel like this sort of scent is one for everyone as it's neither heavily floral or spiced. It smells similar to another one of my favourites balsam cedar.

If you haven't smelt either scents I defnitely recommend you giving them a sniff next time you're near a yankee store!

Loreal Made for Me Naturals.

I've said it before I'll say it again I absolutely love a nude lip, I think it can look really sultry and sexy. I realise it's not for everyone but I recently bought this in boots and it is a absolute perfect starter nude if you've never really ventured into them before. There's three different shades in the Made for me naturals range the one called 'Nude' is aimed at those with blonde hair supposedly but I'd say it could be worn by a range of skin tones and hair colours.

I absolutely adore this shade and I've been wearing it none stop! It also goes really nice with Mac strip down lip pencil.

I'd definitely recommend and at £8.19 it's definitely affordable!

Revlon Colourburst Gloss in 'Sunbaked'

Lip products are one of my favourite things I have a growing collection and I'm always changing up what I wear (it's normal for me to have around 5 lipsticks/lipglosses in my handbag at a time), for me to say that I really really like something it's kind of a big deal. 

I bought this Revlon colourburst lipgloss in September, I'd previously had Revlon lipsticks but never a gloss, I love nude lips, but wanted something a little more darker for Autumn so I chose 'Sunbaked'. 

It is such a pretty shade, but still has that nude element which I love! It is also is really good colour pay off. I like to layer this over my MAC Stripdown pencil, it's literally all I've worn for the past month or more. 

I particularly like wearing a gloss at this time of year because my lips get extremely cracked and dry from the cold, and lipsticks can end up looking really gross and flakey! Yuk!

I definitely recommend to any nude lip lovers out there! The Revlon Colourburst range is available in Boots for £7.99 for a gloss, I'm looking forward to trying out more.

MAC Stripdown Lip pencil.

So I asked for this lip pencil for my birthday, simply because I had heard both Kim Kardashian and Molly King for the Saturday's used it, two of my all time girl crushes. 

At first I did wonder if it would even suit me, I hadn't actually ever looked at it in person, so was just going on a whim, I did see Nic from Pixiwoo use it in a tutorial and was sold. 

It is a very simple nude lip pencil, and it goes with nearly anything, from classic nudes, to more darker plummy nudes. I know the colour may look brown and pretty unwearable but on the lip it actually is probably one of the most wearable lip colours I own. It also increases the longevity of your lip colour when layered. 

Obviously Kim Kardashian and Molly King are completely difference skin tones, so it is a really universal colour that I think could work on the majority of people.

Overall I LOVE!

Good Things Miracle Mattifier Moisturiser

Everyone has their own go to products right? Well this is my go to face moisturiser for my troublesome skin!

I love the Good Things range, I'm yet to try a product I haven't liked, the best part is that the products are really natural, while being free from parabens, sodium laureth sulphate, animal ingredients, and mineral oils, so are really guilt free!

I honestly bought this moisturiser on a whim, no researching and trawling blogs, no recommendations, it was just me in Sainsbury's looking for a new moisturiser to try and honestly it really paid off.

As I've previously mentioned on my blog I have really acne prone oily/combination skin, and I always struggle with moisturisers, I tend to be ok using one at first and then I'll either get a HUGE breakout or a nasty skin irritation. The majority of this range in my eyes is aimed at young, spot prone skin, and I almost felt like doing a little dance when I finally found a 'spot care' range that doesn't just bung a load of chemicals into their products.

The moisturiser itself is quite heavily scented of fruits, which I was pleasantly surprised by as I'd normally steer well clear of this. When you first squeeze it from the tube it appears quite thick, but as you rub it into your skin it is really light weight and sinks in immediately, no shiny forehead, and no nasty residue, just nice skin. 

This product is also called a 'mattifier' which it does live up to it's name, I'd say if you are very oily it's not going to make a huge difference, but to somebody with combination skin who needs a bit of help this is a great little product.

Whenever I have a breakout, or if my skin is just feeling generally yukky this is always the moisturiser I return to, I just love it. I'm currently suffering with chicken pox and I'm banned from wearing foundation, so I have been using this both morning and night in order to keep my skin moisturised, but without overloading it, or making it more sore!

I couldn't say anymore good things about the 'Good Things' range, but this is definitely my favourite product!

It's available for £7.99 for 100ml in Boots, but is also regularly on offer in Sainsbury's, a definite must try for a sensitive oily/combo skin!

Review: Philosophy Purity Cleanser.

I'm a huge fan of double cleansing, and for the first part of my cleanse I absolutely LOVE using Purity, made simple cleanser by Philosophy.

I first used this cleanser when I received it in my Beauty Advent Calendar last advent. I loved it so much I purchased the full size, which is fairly pricey £28.50, however you do get 480ml and this bottle has lasted me a good 5-6 months, and I still have around a 1/4 left.

It's a fairly natural product, with natural oils and no real skincare nasties which really attracted me to buying the full size. 

It claims to remove makeup, cleanse the skin and tone. However I only really use it to cleanse off the bulk of my makeup, and it is seriously good at that!

I wear Estee Lauder double wear foundation, and that is notoriously difficult to remove, I struggled for a long time to find something that could remove it all, and not break me out, or irritate my skin.

The product its self is like a thick liquid, it's much thicker than a cleansing milk, but not quite as thick as a gel or balm. I massage it in all over my face, including my eyes then remove with hot water and a flannel.

The scent is fairy herbal, and I wasn't overly keen at first but now it doesn't really bother me.

The only have two negatives about this product the first being that the packaging has a tendency to leak, the small version does come with a better closing top, the large version can open itself and make a huge mess if you are travelling!

The second being that if I use this product alone or as a second cleanse it has broken me out, it works perfectly for a first cleanse but when used as a second cleanse the natural oils are just too heavy for my acne prone skin. This however would seriously be amazing for more dry and dehydrated skin! 

Overall I seriously love this product, I recently bought the Ultimelt by Soap and Glory which just doesn't compare I will review this when I have given it a fair good testing. I also have purchased the ever famous Emma Hardie cleansing Balm which I haven't even opened yet.

It may be a while before I purchase the Purity cleanser again but there is no doubt about whether I will. It is truly one of the best cleansers that I have ever used! I really do recommend to anyone who is looking for a new cleanser. It is also available in boots in a 90ml trial size for £8.00 if the price tag puts you off!

Estee Lauder's DayWear Advanced Multi-protection Anti-oxidant Creme

I am a huge fan of Estee Lauder, if I had to pick one brand to use for the rest of my makeup days, I think Estee Lauder would definitely be it (that's quite a bold statement for me haha). 

I recently got a sample of this day cream and instantly fell in love. 

My skin is combination and fairly oily through the t-zone so I tend to be really fussy when it comes to moisturisers as I have had some disasters in the past including breakouts and makeup meltdown.

I use the normal/oily version, although there is also one that is aimed at dry skin as well.

I love the packaging in particular as it is a nice weighty jar and looks quite pretty sat on my dresser. 

It's a fairly rich cream, with the typical 'DayWear' range scent of cucumbers which I find really nice and refreshing first thing in the morning, however I can imagine some with quite sensitive skin may find this an irritant. Some of the 'DayWear' line in the past has also irritated my eyes but so far I have had no problems.

I also love the fact it has an spf of 15 as I always struggle to find spf's that do not irritate my skin!

The only time I do not reach for this is if I am planning to go foundation free as I have found that by the middle of the day you can start looking quite oily. 

When buying moisturiser I always try to find something that will hydrate my skin without breakouts, and major oiliness. I feel that this works perfectly along side my double wear foundation, which can sometimes be quite drying when wearing it for a full day. 

I feel the main downside to Estee Lauders DayWear cream is the price as many would probably not want to fork out £40 for a face cream.

However they are always very helpful at counters with giving samples and this product regularly features when a counter is on 'gift' (free products given when you buy two or more items). 

Personally I will definitely continue to purchase this as I'm a huge fan, and I would recommend to any body looking for a new high-end face cream.
